This is a field recording taken on a zoom h4n of a light rain storm. I focused the capsules on a gutter that was releasing a lot of water.

I needed a nice clear, slightly ominous match being lit, and so we created this composite using kitchen matches in the shower with a zoom h2.

Cricket lighter lit up and burning. Recorded on a sony xperia z3, and slightly edited to remove the majority of background noise.

A light thunderstorm in carrboro, nc. Not too much wind or heavy rain, but some very good thunder claps. As the thunder slowly fades away, some distant traffic and a siren can be heard. Recorded on a zoom h2. This was uploaded as vorbis instead of flac or wav because it's quite long but i thought people might find it useful to have the whole thing. Some intelligent de-clipping was also performed in audacity to remove some slight distortion from the loudest claps.

My bathroom fan is humming while operating. As you might hear, the fan is full of dust and dirt, so it does this "unround" noisy humming. Recorded with a tascam dr-40. My tower fan is loud and annoying and broken.

This is the hum of an old freezer running. The microphone (galaxy s9) was placed inside and the door shut.

Sfx made with plugin, evoquing a large metal fan or an imaginative alarm. Can be a strange sci-fi effect or background realist foley of a big machine.

An old hard drive booting up and being shut off with a very noisy fan. I recorded it very close to the source. Could be used for rickety spacecraft or diy science project sounds.
